Rajnikant Tailor and Bangalor Cricket Team Visit To Play In England

(PRWeb UK) December 9, 2010

The 2-11 Malleshwaram cricket team from the north of the city of Bangalore are to take a ten-day cricketing trip to England where they will meet with some local teams in Surrey and Sussex, join in training sessions and compete in friendly matches with local sides. The team is currently playing in the local league and their progress has earned them a great deal of attention, particularly after a recent impressive win against last year?s League winners.

Top bowler Rajnikant Tailor was delighted that all the arrangements for the trip are now in place and preparations can begin. ?We are thrilled at this opportunity to go to England and meet with players there?, said Rajnikant Tailor in a recent interview for a local Bangalore newspaper. ?This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us and many of the players on our team have never even traveled abroad. We are hoping to improve our skills and swap ideas with out counterparts in England and learn how the game is played over there. We are used to seeing English cricket on the television but it will be such a unique experience to actually meet players and watch matches live.?

The trip is being arranged by the local board of cricket clubs and is seen as an important way in which to develop the skills of grass-roots players. Bangalore is famous for cricket but many smaller clubs and lesser-known players don?t have the chance to make the grade. This should allow the players to develop their skills and learn from each other.

It is hoped that, if everything goes according to plan and the trip is a success, that the team?s English counterparts will embark on a similar trip to Bangalore the following year. This will ensure that permanent links are made between the various clubs and long-term relationships are forged.

ABOUT: The Bangalore cricket team have been causing a stir on the local cricket scene with their run of outright victories. The team is made up of local sportsmen including Rajnikant Tailor have now had to dedicate more time to practise and matches as their success continues.

Tamils in Sri Lanka Attacked for Celebrating India's Cricket Victory: Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam Condemns the Attack, Congratulates Indian Team

New Delhi, India (PRWEB) April 3, 2011

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) today condemned attacks by the Sri Lankan security forces on Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka, who were celebrating the victory of the Indian cricket team. TGTE also extended its congratulations to the Indian cricket team for their impressive victory and said Tamils in the island and around the world are joining the people of India in their celebrations.

"It is reported that Tamil's lit firecrackers to celebrate India's cricket victory and to express their joy. Sri Lankan security forces went around in motor bicycles and attacked those celebrating," said Mr. Deluxon Morris, Minister for investigation of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. "It is a well known fact that Tamils have no basic rights in Sri Lanka. Now, they even do not have the right to celebrate a Cricket victory. This is the plight of Tamils in Sri Lanka." Sri Lankan security forces are almost exclusively from the Sinhalese community and are stationed in Tamil areas in the island of Sri Lanka.

Even though the war has ended about two years ago, the Sri Lankan Security forces are present in large numbers in Tamil areas and their presence is expanding. "There are reports of political killings, rapes, abductions and other abuses against Tamil civilians. This is the state under which Tamils live in that island and the attack for celebrating India's victory is a continuation of the humiliation and abuse they face," said Mr. Morris.

In the final months of the war, around 80,000 Tamils were killed by the Sri Lankan security force's bombing and shelling. According to the United Nations several Tamils died of starvation and many bled to death when the Sri Lankan Government prevented medical aid to the injured. United Nations Secretary General appointed a Panel of experts to assess whether War Crimes were committed for these killings. The Panel is going to hand over the report to UN Secretary General this month and TGTE is urging the finding of the report to be made public.

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is a democratically elected body of the Tamil diaspora. It conducted elections in twelve countries to elect Members of Parliament. TGTE drafted and approved a Constitution, elected a Prime Minister, Speaker and a ten member Cabinet.
