Fall in Music City means one thing: music festivals. They fill up the autumn calendar and make those cool nights even cooler. Headliners, up-and-comers and everything in between will take to the stage to show off the many genres of music Nashville has to offer.
Finding all the music venues around town can be tricky so download the free Nashville Live Music app, the first ever city-wide live music guide. Created to help visitors and locals find live music venues throughout Music City, the app allows users to search for music by area of town or venue name, and will tell you exactly who?s playing at each venue. There is also a map function that shows you where the venues are, as well as an augmented reality feature that uses your phone?s camera to show the live music venue options located nearest to you.
National Folk Festival

The National Folk Festival is a three-day, outdoor event presented free to the public that celebrates the roots, richness and variety of American culture. Taking place at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall in Downtown Nashville, it will feature a broad array of music and dance performances, participatory dancing, workshops, children's activities, regional and ethnic foods, storytelling, parades, craft exhibits, demonstrations and more.

Live On The Green

Live On The Green is a free, six-week concert series held every Thursday evening from September 8th to October 13th in Public Square Plaza adjacent to Nashville's Metropolitan Courthouse. Now in its third year, the successful concert series highlights local artists as well as national acts representing some of the best talent Music City has to offer. Confirmed performers include The Nashville Symphony with K.S. Rhoads, Ten out of Tenn, Los Lonely Boys, Edwin McCain and more.
Next Big Nashville presents SoundLand

Now in its sixth year, Music City?s most progressive annual musical event, Next BIG Nashville, is transforming and breaking new ground, all under the new moniker: SoundLand. SoundLand will feature over 100 national and regional acts performing in 11 different venues over the course of four nights, along with VIP parties and creative workshops during the day. Also new this year, SoundLand will be adding outdoor stages, arts, local food trucks and more interactive fun, culminating in an all-day party at Public Square Park in downtown Nashville on Saturday, September 24.
Some of this year?s performers include: Foster the People, Ghostland Observatory, M Ward, Dawes, Cults, Justin Townes Earle, The Low Anthem, JEFF The Brotherhood, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Bonobo, Ben Sollee, Carl Broemel, Yelawolf, Big K.R.I.T., Those Darlins and Jessica Lea Mayfield among many others.
International Bluegrass Music Association ?World of Bluegrass?

The ?World of Bluegrass? is a week long celebration of all things bluegrass. The week starts off with the IBMA Business Conference, Sept. 26-29, followed by the International Bluegrass Music Awards Show on September 29th at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Finally the Bluegrass Fan Fest, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, will feature more than 60 performances by the industry?s top acts.

The 12th Annual Americana Festival includes four nights of 100 live performances at five music venues in and around downtown Nashville. Days are filled with seminars, panels and networking opportunities at the Nashville Convention Center. The event?s climax is the Americana Honors and Awards ceremony on October 13th at the Ryman Auditorium.

The Music City Walk of Fame is a landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have contributed to the world through song or other industry collaboration and made a significant contribution to the music industry with connection to Music City. Inductees are announced and honored at a special ceremony with a permanent platinum-and-granite, star-and-guitar sidewalk marker. Inducted honorees include the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Keith Urban, Jimi Hendrix, Kris Kristofferson, Reba McEntire, Roy Orbison, The Crickets, Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, Michael W. Smith, Little Richard and more.
This event is free to the public.
