This Island Rocks! The Preparation for the 2011 St. Kitts Music Festival is Well Underway

(PRWEB UK) 21 April 2011

Preparations are already underway for the 2011 event, and the official Facebook page for the 2011 St. Kitts Music Festival is buzzing with talk of potential performers and comments from excited music lovers. The event, which showcases a wide range of music styles, is a great way for visitors and those who own St. Kitts real estate to celebrate the thriving creative culture of this beautiful island.

The festival is the most diversified musical show in the Caribbean, and many big name performers have taken the stage in the past, including Shaggy, Busta Rhymes, Boys II Men, Wyclef Jean and Kool & the Gang. The line-up for this year?s festival has yet to be confirmed, but names that have been mentioned on the official website include Jaime Fox, FloRida, and Keshia Cole. Local radio stations have been taking calls from viewers suggesting who they would like to see perform this year.

The event will be held in Basseterre, the capital of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. One of the oldest towns in the Eastern Caribbean, it is the country?s main port and the centre of its culture. Despite its size, Basseterre was able to outbid the USA to host matches for the 2007 World Cricket Cup, proving that it is an excellent host city for an event such as this.

As well as an appreciation for great music, one of the main aims of the festival is to showcase St. Kitts as a world-class tourist destination. Many tourists come to enjoy the musicians and end up falling in love with the sand beaches, beautiful scenery and endless sunshine of the island. Sales of St. Kitts real estate have also been on the rise, as many people are choosing it as a place to own a second home or retire in the sun. The fun-loving, festival atmosphere and the friendly, laid back attitude of the people here attract many people to owning St. Kitts real estate.

The St. Kitts Music Festival is not the only party that happens in St. Kitts. There are lively celebrations held throughout the year, making it always exciting to live in St. Kitts real estate. The St. Kitts Carnival is celebrated in December and January and includes parades in the streets and massive dance parties. The International Triathlon event, held every May, attracts competitors from all over the world, even as far as Australia. In late July, Culturama is celebrated on nearby Nevis with shows, street jamming, and horse racing. There is always a reason to party on this beautiful island, which means it is never boring to be living in St. Kitts real estate.

During the St. Kitts Music Festival, the island will be busier than usual so those who are planning on travelling to St. Kitts to attend should book flights and accommodation in advance. For those that own St. Kitts real estate on the island, they are being advised to purchase tickets early so that they get to see the bands of their choice.

To keep updated on the festival and be the first to know which bands will be featured, check out the St Kitts Music Festival website.

Music and Dance Spectacular by Cri Cri Club of Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 14, 2011

Several dozen children performed for visitors and guests of a Cri Cri Club festival featuring characters created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in 1934 which have come to be known across Latin America and the United States and have found increasing popularity with the Hispanic community in Los Angeles.

Host and Emcee, Francisco Sanz Polo, 1st Grandson of the creator of ?Cri-Cri? (Francisco Gabilondo Soler) introduced the original cartoons of the ?Cri-Cri? character to the children in attendance which was followed by a live enactment of more than a dozen acts from the "Cri-Cri" musicals.

The event was entertaining and also educational with film showings of "The Way to Happiness," (a common sense moral guide to better living containing 21 precepts) which included such precepts as "Love and Help Children," "Be Industrious" and "Try to Treat Others as You Would Want Them to Treat You." After the event "Cri Cri" along with characters from the show posed with guests of the show and each received their own copy of "The Way to Happiness."

?This event was a great success, but more importantly the songs of ?Cri-Cri? promoted our traditional values through generations. But now we find that these values are beautifully written by L. Ron Hubbard in his common sense guide for better living ? The Way to Happiness,? stated Francisco Sanz Polo ? 1st Grandson of the creator of the ?Cri-Cri? character. Sanz Polo added, ?We want all Hispanics in the US to know and benefit from this book.? Recent performances included celebrating Children?s Day for Mexico and several community groups and schools in Los Angeles.

About "Cri-Cri:" Cri-Cri is a fictional character, an anthropomorphic cricket, created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in 1934 while broadcasting his own musical radio show on Mexico?s station XEW. Cri-Cri is known as the ?grillito cantor? or ?the singing cricket?. He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and has been described as a similar following among South American countries that Disney does for children in the United States.

About "The Way to Happiness:" The first moral code based wholly on common sense, originally published in 1981, its purpose is to help arrest the current moral decline in society and restore integrity and trust to humankind. The Way to Happiness (http://www.twth.org) further holds a Guinness Record as the world?s single most translated non-religious book in the world. "The Way to Happiness" was written in 1981 by humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard (http://www.lronhubbard.org)

WCPE?s Premieres ?My Life in Music?

Wake Forest, NC (PRWEB) December 21, 2011

WCPE Program Director Dick Storck announces the premiere of a new program called ?My Life in Music?, co-hosted by a musician from the North Carolina Symphony. Each musician chooses his own musical recordings for the show, which airs the first Monday of each month, 7-8 pm, ET.

?This program presents a great opportunity to know our North Carolina musicians,? offers Storck. ?It's autobiographical, providing musical selections and interesting facts about each musician's favorite composers and works.?

Thus far, co-hosts for My Life in Music include the following musicians:

Paul Randall, principal trumpeter, January 2, 2012;

Bonnie Thron, principal cello, February 6, 2012;

David Marschall, acting principal viola, March 5, 2012;

Karen Galvin: concert master, 1st violin, April 2, 2012;

Erik Dyke, double bass, May 7, 2012;

Maria Evola, 1st violin, June 4, 2012.

?We're so pleased that WCPE is producing this program and making our fascinating and knowledgeable musicians its centerpiece,? says North Carolina Symphony CEO Sandi Macdonald.

"My Life in Music" is conversational and fun. It reveals the distinct personalities of the talented people you more often see in a formal setting on stage wearing tuxedos and playing their instruments.

?In speaking with the musicians, I have already learned so much in terms of critical listening,? adds Community and Arts Liaison Tara Lynn, who will produce this new show. ?When they share recordings by the champions of their own instrument, the musicians have increased my own enjoyment of the music ten fold.?

?Each musician has approached this project differently so far,? continues Lynn. ?Every one is spectacular! I truly believe WCPE listeners' affinity will grow, as mine has, for each one of these individuals who work as a collective to light up the concert hall.?
