Nashville Car Accident Frequency Leads to Ranking as the 30th Safest City in the United States for Drivers

(PRWEB) September 22, 2011

The Nashville personal injury lawyers at the Tennessee law firm of Michael D. Ponce & Associates, PLLC would like to publicize the fact that Allstate Insurance Co. has completed its annual study regarding the safest cities in the United States in which to drive. Several cities in Tennessee made the list of rankings which included the 200 largest cities in the United States. ?Allstate's Best Driver's Report was created to boost the country's discussion on safe driving,? said Mike Roche, executive vice president of Allstate's Claim Organization.

Specifically, Nashville was ranked as the 30th safest city in the United States based on the percentage of Nashville car accidents that occur that involve insured drivers. In addition, Chattanooga was ranked as the 10th safest city for drivers in the United States, Knoxville was 6th and Memphis was 58th. These rankings are released by Allstate Insurance Co. every year.

These rankings show positive signs regarding Tennessee auto accidents overall. Every year, more than 150,000 Tennessee traffic accidents occur, and these crashes lead to an approximate average of 47,000 injuries and to more than 1,000 fatalities. Specifically, 150,483 auto accidents occurred in the state in 2010, and these crashes led to 43,233 injuries and to 958 fatalities.

Fort Collins, Colorado ranked as the safest city for motorists in the United States for the second consecutive year. The most dangerous city in the study was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by Los Angeles and New York.
