A local Bangalore cricket team celebrated another victory yesterday when it won the latest match in the Bangalore Cricket League. The team from Malleshwaram, in the north of the city, is little known outside of Bangalore and yet its players show much promise.
The atmosphere was lively and festive as Ketan Thakrar took to the field to bowl first. He had a fantastic innings and was followed by an equally impressive Sanjit who has been a key player with the team for over ten years.
Bangalore is renowned for its quality cricketing heritage and if this is the quality of its local teams then it?s hardly surprising that the city and the region has produced so many top-quality national and international players.
Yesterday?s game was as exciting as any national fixture and the tension mounted when Ketan Thakrar came on to bat. He had some catching up to do but he managed to attack the wicket with such gusto that the team streaked ahead of their rivals in no time at all. The entire squad played well and helped the team reach its final, decisive victory.
The next match for the team sees them up against the highly rated Bangalore City team who has yet to lose a match in the local cup so far this season. However, team Malleshwaram is confident that they give them a good game and potentially take the victory.
